Ezekial Thatcher was clerk of the Parkville School District, Shasta County, Calif. He emigrated to California from Pennsylvania in 1850 and helped establish the first school district in the Parkville area. John Calvin McCoy (b. Sept. 28, 1811, Vincennes, Ind.-d. Sept. 2, 1889, Kansas City, Mo.) was the son of Baptist missionaries Isaac and Christiana Polk McCoy. He studied at Transylvania College in Lexington, Kentucky, in 1826 and 1827, then moved to the Kansas City area in 1830 with his family.
